Carnivorous Bog Workshop

If you were asked to imagine a landscape where carnivorous plants thrive, you might picture something wild and untamed, with twisting greenery and ancient wetlands. It feels like something out of a storybook… or perhaps a mysterious little flower shop where unusual plants have a life of their own.

In reality, these fascinating insect eating plants grow in bright, acidic, nutrient poor wetlands known as bogs. With the right balance of light, moisture, and soil, that incredible ecosystem can be recreated right at home.

This fall, we’re giving our Carnivorous Bog Workshop a playful Little Shop of Horrors twist. Join us as you create your own miniature bog garden filled with incredible bug-eating plants that thrive in wetland conditions. These tiny ecosystems are beautiful to watch and wonderfully functional, helping catch gnats, fruit flies, and other small pests.

During the workshop, you’ll learn how to build and care for a healthy carnivorous bog so your plants can thrive for years to come. Whether you’re a longtime plant lover, a fan of the classic film, or simply curious about these fascinating ecosystems, this is a unique way to celebrate the fall season while taking home a living piece of nature.
